Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, brought out a procession in the capital, demanding immediate release and proper treatment of their party chief Begum Khaleda Zia.
The procession was brought out around 8:00am on Friday from Kalyanpur area of the capital.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of BNP, said: “By staging the procession, we are protesting the autocratic decision of the government. This is not our pre-scheduled programme. But anyone can protest from anywhere in the country as our leader was pushed into the jail.”
More than 100 leaders and activists of BNP and its allies attended the procession, according to sources.
