The excavation in search of ‘hidden treasure’ in Mirpur-10 has been suspended by the District Executive Magistrate.

Dhaka District Executive Magistrate Tajwar Akram Sakapi Ibn Sajjad,  who was involved in the excavation in search of 'hidden treasure', confirmed the news.

After examining the probability of finding 'hidden treasure' by the experts, excavation will be started, Executive Magistrate Tajwar Akram said.

Earlier on Saturday, they started the digging work at around 10:30 am at the house of one Monirul Islam at Road-16 (Block-C) of Mirpur Section-10 in the presence of executive magistrate Md Anwar Uz-Jaman.

Monirul Islam, who is claiming himself as the present owner of the house, said he got the information of the hidden treasures from the house's previous owner who is a Pakistani national.

Monirul filed a General Diary with Mirpur Police Station on July 14 regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, the other GD was filed by Abu Toyab, who is a cousin of the previous owner of the house.

After the GD, some policemen were deployed to guard the house and then the digging work was started in presence of the executive magistrate.
