A total of 25 permanent and makeshift markets of sacrificial animals would be set up in the capital ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Of the markets, 15 will be built in Dhaka North City Corporation while 10 in Dhaka South City Corporation.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman made the disclosure today.
He said: "None will be allowed to set up any cattle market in the city out of these 25 fixed spots. And no cattle trader can use any adjacent roads to display their cattle."
"The market authorities are also asked to install CCTV cameras and fake note detectors in the markets. Besides, each market will contain a police control room and a security watchtower," he added.
Temporary ATM booths of different banks will also be set up in the markets.
