A mild tremor jolted Dhaka and other parts of the country on Wednesday morning.
The earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale was felt at 10:52am. The epicentre of the earthquake was 7 km north east of Sapatgram in India’s Assam.
However, there was no immediate report of any damage or casualty.
According to the scale of seismologists, an earthquake ranging from 5 to 5.9 is considered a moderate earthquake which can cause slight damage to buildings.
