Two women have sustained injuries after miscreants threw a petrol bomb on an Intercity bus in Bagura's Radharghati area.
The incident happened a few hours after the August 21 grenade attack case verdict was pronounced this afternoon.
The police have captured Noor Mahmud, assistant agricultural affairs secretary of local Jubo Dal, from the spot.
Confirming the incident, Additional Police Super of Bagura Circle Sonaton Chakroborty said: "SI Rummon has captured Noor Mahmud from the spot and further investigation is underway in this regard. A case will be filed against him soon."
"Of the injured women, one received minor burns," he added.
Dhaka 1st Speedy Trial Tribunal today sentenced 19 people to death, including former BNP state minister for Home Lutfozzaman Babar and 19 others, including BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to life imprisonment, in one case filed over the gruesome August 21 grenade attack on an Awami League rally in the capital in 2004.
Police, RAB and other law enforcement agencies have taken up extra security measures across the country ahead of pronouncement of the verdict of August 21 grenade attack case.
