If the then BNP government is behind the August 21 grenade attack incident, the present government should bear all liabilities of the BDR carnage, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
He said: "If the system is responsible for the grenade attack on Awami League rally during BNP's regime, the present Awami League-led government should bear all liabilities of crimes committed in recent times, including BDR mutiny, Holey Artisan café attack and all other murders, and disappearances."
The BNP spokesperson made the remarks while addressing a press briefing at National Press Club today.
Claiming that Harkat-ul-Jihad (Huji) leader Mufti Abdul Hannan gave his confessional statement relating Tarique Rahman and other BNP leaders with the August 21 grenade attack on Awami League rally in the face of police torture, he said: " Despite the withdrawal of his [Hannan] statement, BNP members had been awarded punishment."
"We hope that the higher court would consider the matter sincerely," he added.
