The Election Commission is set to hold a meeting today to discuss preparations for the upcoming 11th National Election.
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda will preside over the meeting.
The Election Commission is yet to pronounce the schedule of the polls as it is waiting to meet President Abdul Hamid to get the concent.
Earlier on August 30, Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukdar boycotted a meeting in disagreement over the use of the electronic voting machine (EVM) in the upcoming national election.
Five important issues, including, preparation for the 11th National Election, using of EVM, rules and law of election, amendment of the current law to enact transgender (hijra) as a separate gender in the voter list are likely to be discussed in the meeting.
