Teenage girl 'gang-raped' in Cox's Bazar

A 17-year-old girl has allegedly been gang-raped at Dhaniakata of Cox's Bazar's Pekua upazila.

According to the police and family sources, the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon when the girl boarded a CNG-run-autorickshaw to go to her relative's house at Dhoniakata village. 

At one stage, some six to seven other men got into the vehicle and the autorickshaw driver, Zunayed, took it to a graveyard at Purbapara of Dhonia Kata where six to seven persons allegedly raped her. 

Hearing her screams, locals rushed in and rescued the victim. Later, they informed the matter to the police. 

Being informed, the police have captured three persons in this connection. They are--Ali Hossain, Md Tareq and Abu Siddique.

Confirming the news, Pekua Police Station OC Zakir Hossain said: "We have already captured three criminals and are trying to detain the three other accused--Mizanur Rahman, Md Zunaid, and Nezam Uddin." 

The victim has been sent to Cox's Bazar district hospital for a medical check-up.
