Bir Protik Taramon Bibi, one of the only two women who received the “Bir Protik” award for gallantry in the 1971 Liberation War, has been admitted to Combined Military Hospital in Mymensingh.
Her son Taher Ali confirmed the news today.
He said: "We have admitted her to Rajibpur Upazila Health Complex this morning as she fell sick. Later, she was shifted to the Mymensingh CMH around 1:30 pm."
Contacted Rajibpur Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Delwar Hossain said: "Her condition is not stable and after primary treatment, she was sent to the CMH."
She has been suffering from respiratory complications including COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and dyspnoea.
