The BNP has termed that their party Chairperson Khaleda Zia has illegally been shifted to the jail from the hospital.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the statement at the jail gate today soon after Khaleda was produced before a makeshift court inside the Old Central jail in Dhaka.
Earlier in the day, the BNP chief was shifted to the jail from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University around 11:30 am and was produced before the court in connection with Niko graft case.
On the other hand, the party's Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan said: "This is inhuman. She needs medical support right now as her doctors had said she will become paralysed without proper treatment."
However, Brig Gen Md. Abdullah-Al-Harun, director (Hospital) Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), said: "We have examined her [Khaleda] condition and suggested necessary medical treatment. She is stable now."
