Authorities of Viquarunnisa School and College have asked Zinnat Ara, the morning shift in-charge, to refrain from all duties.

Viquarunnisa Noon School and College Principal Nazneen Ferdous made the announcement today, a day after Adhriti Odhikari, daughter of Dilip Odhikari, reportedly committed suicide after allegedly being rebuked by teachers for using mobile phone during the examination.

She said: "The decision came from a meeting of the institution's governing body last night. Zinnat Ara was also served a show-cause notice over the incident and the authorities asked her not to join office until the probe reports come."

It happened at a time when the parents and students are demonstrating in front of the administration building of the institution demanding Zinnat Ara's suspension.

Earlier in the day, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid visited Viquarunnisa Noon School’s Bailey Road branch and announced the formation of a three-member probe committee to investigate the incident.

Meanwhile, the school authorities formed another probe body today in the face of protest.

Both the committees were asked to submit the report by three working days.
