Abdul Latif Siddiqui, an independent candidate of Tangail-4 constituency, has decided to quit the election race.

Latif Siddiqui informed the decision to the journalist after submitting a complaint letter to Election Commission (EC) around 12pm today. 

He also distributed the copies of his statement among the journalists, submitted to the Election Commission (EC).

Earlier on December 17, Latif Siddiqui began hunger strike unto death in front of Tangail returning officer’s office protesting an attack on his motorcade.

The motorcade of the politician allegedly came under attack when he was campaigning in his electoral area.

On December 19, Latif Siddiqui was admitted to Tangail General Hospital after his health condition deteriorated while he was continuing his fast unto death.
