A 10-member committee has been formed to settle off ongoing unrest over the implementation of RMG workers' minimum pay structure.
The committee includes five officials concerned of Commerce and Labour ministries and five representatives from the workers' side.
The body was formed soon after the newly sworn-in Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi hold a meeting with the garment workers and their owners at the Department of Labour in Dhaka this afternoon.
After the meeting, the minister said: "We will solve RMG workers' problems, including salary structure by a month."
He meanwhile called upon the agitated workers to return their workstations from tomorrow.
Hundreds of garment workers took to the streets for a third consecutive day today to press home their demands including implementation of minimum wage.
They blocked the busy roads of the capital during the protest bringing a standstill in many places.
Later, police opened fire on the protesting workers, leaving one dead.
