Thousands of garment workers in capital's different parts continued the demonstration for the fourth consecutive day, demanding cancellation of the ‘discriminatory’ wage board and raising in their wage with several other demands.
The agitated workers from several garment factories in Ulail and Genda areas started gathering on the streets and blocking roads since morning and began demonstrations by setting tyres on fire.
RMG workers put up barricades on Bishmile-Jirabo road at Kathgara in Ashulia demanding wage hike.
"Additional police force have been deployed to the area to avoid any unwanted situation," said Pallabi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazrul Isalam.
Earlier on Tuesday, Sumon Mia, 22, a worker of Anlima Textile, was killed and 30 others injured in clashes with police during demonstrations at Hemayetpur.
