The members of Fire Service and Civil Defence have recovered the bodies of two unidentified men from Meghna River.
Although the identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, it is being suspected that those are of the workers, who went missing after a sand-laden trawler capsized in the Meghna River on Tuesday.
One of the bodies was recovered from Munshiganj Launch Ghat around 9 am while another from Shatnal area in Chandpur district around 12 noon today, six days after the trawler capsized.
Mostofa Mohsin, assistant director (Diving) of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said: "We have suspected that the bodies are of the missing workers. But, we are not sure about their actual identities."
"Two rescue teams started their operations around 8 am today and found those bodies. We have been trying to trace the trawler through side scan sound wave," he added.
The trawler capsized in Meghna River with 34 workers on board on Tuesday after it collided with an oil-laden tanker while heading towards Fatulla in Narayanganj.
Of the 34 workers, 14 managed to swim ashore while the rest went missing. All the workers hail from Pabna and Sirajganj districts.
Divers of Bangladesh Navy, Fire Service, BIWTC, Coast Guard and River police are also trying to locate the trawler since then.
