Bangladesh have secured the sixth spot in the ongoing eight-nation Hero 10th Men's Asia Cup Hockey, beating upper ranked China by 4-3 goals in a penalty shootout.

This is the first victory for Bangladesh in their 4th match of the ongoing tournament after suffering three defeats in a row -- 0-7 defeat against Pakistan, 0-7 loss against India and 1-3 defeat over Japan in pool matches.

Bangladesh will now meet Japan once again in the 5th-6th place deciding match which will be held Friday while China face Oman in the 7th-8th place decider the same day.

Bangladesh lost to Japan 3-1 in their last match of the group stage. As Bangladesh never managed to finish among the top five, which they can accomplish for the first time if they can beat Japan.
