BNP Standing Committee member Moudud Ahmed said BNP would contest the next general elections defying all obstacles.
He said: "No conspiracy will work out against the party this time. We will participate in the next polls amid the current adverse situation."
The BNP leader made the remarks while addressing a discussion at the National Press Club in the capital on Friday.
A pro-BNP platform, Swadhinata Forum, organised the discussion, protesting the attacks on BNP chief Khaleda Zia's motorcade.
He also warned the government of severe consequence if it does not reach a consensus with the BNP.
He further stated: "Without BNP's participation, no election will be accepted by the people. So, the government must accept BNP’s demand for supportive poll-time government in order to ensure our participation.”
He claimed that the attacks on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade on her way to and way back from Cox’s Bazar were carried out by the members of the ruling party.
