Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday said a legal notice will be sent to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir over their recent comments on the sustainability of Padma Bridge.
Quader and also Awami League General Secretary, made the remarks while distributing warm-clothes among the cold-hit people in the capital today.
The minister also said: “Khaleda Zia issued a legal notice to prime minister without any ground. She should be prepared for a legal notice over her groundless comments on Padma Bridge.”
Earlier on January 2, BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia called upon the countrymen to avoid crossing over the long-awaiting Padma Bridge, saying, "Crossing over Padma Bridge is risky."
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, on the other hand, said, “Padma Bridge is being constructed with a defective design.”
