Remain united to bring AL to power again: Matia

Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury today called upon leaders and workless of Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies to remain united and work together for bringing AL to power again for continuation of development.

"The party leaders and workers should forget their petty differences to further strengthen their unity and work unitedly in reaching the tremendous success stories of the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the common people," she said.

The minister was addressing the party workers' meeting jointly organised by the district and city units of AL at Town Hall auditorium here as the chief guest.

With city AL President Shafiur Rahman Shafi in the chair, leaders and workers of AL and its associate bodies from the district, upazila, union and ward units participated in the meeting. 

Finance and Planning Affairs Secretary of the AL central committee Tipu Munshi ,MP, addressed the meeting as the special guest,

Organising Secretary of AL BM Mozammel Haque delivered his speech as the main discussant narrating the goals and objectives of arranging the meeting as a part of the nationwide programme of AL that will continue till the next general elections. 

Members of the Parliament Advocate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia and Abul Kalam Ahsanul Haque Deuk Chowdhury, Acting President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary of city AL Tushar Kanti Mandal, upazila and ward levels leaders of AL also spoke.

In her speech, Matia Chowdhury narrated the tremendous developments achieved by the present government led by Prime Minsiter Sheikh Hasina in every field and improvement of the life standard of the common people during the past nine years. 

"The people of the country have observed activities of BNP and Jamaat alliance twice while they were in power in the past as killing of innocent people is their only profession and target," she said.

"In 2014, the BNP-Jamaat clique killed innocent people and conducted fire terrorism, burnt common people and political workers to death and removed rail lines," she said adding that the general elections were held then with assistance of the common people. 

Matia said, "Overcoming all hurdles and conspiracies, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking the nation ahead on way to build a developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."

She called upon the grassroots level leaders and workers of AL and its associate bodies to forget petty differences among them and reach to the common people with the success of the present government to win the next general elections again.

Tipu Munshi called upon the party leaders and workers to become imbued with the ideals of Bangabandhu and foil all conspiracies of the anti-liberation forces for winning the next general elections and bring AL to power again for building a middle income nation by 2021 and developed Bangladesh by 2041.
