Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif today opined that bringing allegations during the election was BNP’s old practice.
The Awami League leader came up with the comment while responding to journalists in the capital about BNP’s allegations of vote rigging in today’s polls.
Earlier, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that Awami League activists have ousted the BNP’s agents from polling stations during the elections to Rajshahi, Barishal, and Sylhet City Corporations on Monday.
In a reaction, BNP also alleged that the administration and the law enforcers failed to control irregularities during the polls to the three cities.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the allegations while addressing a press conference held at the party’s Nayapaltan central headquarters in the capital.
The BNP has also boycotted the elections to Barisal City Corporation, alleging widespread vote rigging and manipulation.
BNP-backed mayoral candidate Mujibur Rahman Sarwar made the announcement a press conference at Barisal Press Club around 12pm.
The voting in the elections to Rajshahi, Barishal and Sylhet City Corporations began this morning and ended around 4pm, amid allegations of vote rigging and different other irregularities.
