Mirza Fakhrul breaks into tear
On Monday (yesterday), BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir broke down into tears while handing over the nomination letters of Khaleda Zia to Bagura BNP President Saiful Islam and BNP Advisory Council member Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu.
The senior BNP leader could not speak for a while at that time as they were receiving the letter on behalf of Khaleda Zia on the day.
The High Court (HC), in an order, extended the jail term of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case to ten years from five years.
On February 8, the Dhaka Special Court-5 convicted her and sentenced her to five years' imprisonment in the graft case.
She is now serving her time at the old central jail at Nazimuddin Road in the city since then.
