Two popular singers--Rumana Islam Kanak Chapa and Baby Naznin--have got BNP nomination to vie in the upcoming 11th general election from Sirajganj-1 and Nilphamari-4 constituencies respectively.
They have collected the nomination letters from the party chairperson's Gulshan political office in the capital yesterday afternoon.
Earlier yesterday, the main opposition BNP gave its initial approval to more than one candidate for most of the parliamentary seats for participating in the national polls, nominating 120 candidates for 69 seats under Barishal, Rangpur, Khulna and Rajshahi divisions.
The party has started issuing the nomination letters among the aspirants from the party chairperson's Gulshan political office on Monday afternoon.
A nomination letter has been collected for Khaleda Zia as the candidate for the Feni-1, Bagura-6 and Bagura-7 constituencies to vie in the national polls.
Bagura BNP President Saiful Islam and BNP Advisory Council member Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu have received the letter on behalf of Khaleda Zia on the day.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, however, also received the nomination letter to contest in the polls from the Thakurgaon-1 constituency.
