Tigers to face Proteas in 1st Test today

A- A A+

Bangladesh is going to face South Africa in the 1st match of two-match Test series at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on today.

The series against South Africa on their home ground will definitely be a big challenge for visiting Bangladesh as the records of sub-continental cricket stars including Sachin Tendulkar in South African conditions are not satisfactory.

But Confident batting line-up and diverse bowling action that squeezed Australia in snatching the first recorded victory against them at the Mirpur Test made tigers more confident and committed enough to combat with dignity against Proteas.

The match will begin at 2 pm Bangladesh time where ICC’s new rules, including DRS and sending off a player by on-field umpires for misconduct on the ground, will be applied for the first time.
State-run BTV, satellite channels Gazi TV and MaasrangaTV will telecast the match live for Bangladesh spectators.
