The first 'Made in Bangladesh' labeled Smartphone 'Primo E8i' which has been manufactured at the mobile phone plant of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd in Chandra of Gazipur has hit tech market.
The smartphone, priced at 3,500 BDT, is available at all Walton Plaza and brand and retail outlets across the country from Sunday (December 10), a press release signed by Assistant General Manager of Creative and Publications Department of Walton Group Augustin Sujan Barai has confirmed on Monday.
The phone was launched at an unveiling program at a community center in Gazipur on Sunday. Asifur Rahman Khan, Chief of Walton Cellular Phone Marketing Division, unveiled the country's first ever smartphone.
Informing that the smartphone has been manufactured at its own plant, he said customers who buy the smartphone will enjoy 30 days instant replacement guaranty with 101 days after sales service on priority basis which will be provided within 48 hours.
The 4.5-inch Primo E8i features a 1.2 GHz Quad Core Processor, Mali-400 GPU, 512 megabyte of RAM with 8 gigabyte internal storage which is expandable up to 32 gigabyte. It has a 5MP rear camera with LED flash while bears a 2MP front camera for selfies.
The phone runs on Android Marshmallow and features a 1700 mAh li-ion battery. The 3G-ennabled dual SIM supported smartphone is available in three attractive colours of Black, Glossy Golden and Coffee.
Mahamudul Hasan, Sr. Deputy Director of Walton Cellular Phone Marketing Division, Mahabub-ul-Hasan, Deputy Director and Ikramuzzaman Khan, regional Sales Manager, were among other top Walton officials present on the occasion.
