Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no one.
Deep convection is taking place over the North Bay and squally weather may affect the maritime ports and coastal areas of Bangladesh.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department, marked low over west central Bay and adjoining area intensified into a depression over the same area and was centred at last night about 985kms Southwest of Chittagong port, 965kms Southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 795kms South or Southwest of Mongla port and 830kms South or Southwest of Payra port.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a north or westerly direction.
Riverport warning: In association with rain or thundershowers temporary south or southeasterly gusty or squally wind speed 45-80kph is likely to occur over the regions of Pabna, Tangail, Dhaka, Faridpur, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar wherein riverports shall hoist cautionary signal no one.
Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barisal, Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.
