"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind with lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur and Rajshahi division with hails at isolated places over the country," said a met office release here this morning.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Seasonal low lies over the South Bay while trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area, the release added.
The highest 51 millimetres (mm) rainfall was recorded at Sitakunda under Chattogram division in 24 hours ending at 6am today.
In a warning message, the met office said, "In association with rain or thundershowers temporary west or northwesterly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Tangail, Mymensingh, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet wherein river ports shall hoist cautionary signal number one till 6pm today".
The maximum 35.0 degrees Celsius temperature was recorded yesterday at Satkhira and Khulna in Khulna division and today's minimum 18.9 degrees Celsius at Srimangal in Sylhet division.
Today's sunset over the capital city will be at 6:22pm and tomorrow's sunrise at 5:33am.
