Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three due to the severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ over coastal Odisha, India.

According to the latest weather bulletin issued by the met office this morning, the severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ moved slightly northwestwards over coastal Odisha and adjoining area of India. It is likely to move north-northwestwards further inland and weaken gradually.

Under the influence of the severe cyclonic storm, steep pressure gradient persists over the North Bay, a deep convection is taking place over the North Bay and coastal areas of Bangladesh.

Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of the country.

Met office predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions in 24 hrs as of 3 pm today.

“Due to severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ over coastal Odisha, India, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions during the next 24 hrs commencing from 3 pm today,” said a met office bulletin.
