Anika Chy speaks on women leadership at Bangladesh Rising Conference

‘Bangladesh Rising Conference 2018’ was held at Harvard University in Boston on May 12 (yesterday).

Ms. Anika Chowdhury, head of Business Development and Strategy Division at Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., spoke on different issues relating to business leadership opportunities for women, their relevant role models and their long-term success at the Bangladesh Rising Conference 2018 on the day, a press release from the pharmaceutical industry has said on Sunday.

Boston-based not-for-profit research organization the International Sustainable Development Institution (ISDI) in the United States organised the day-long conference on the day.

The “Bangladesh Rising Conference 2018” was held in collaboration with Harvard Kennedy School of Government, according to the statement from ISDI.

The Economist reported last September that it is "a good moment to celebrate Bangladesh’s economic progress. Its annual growth has averaged more than 6% over the past ten years and has run above 7% over the past two.”

More than celebrating, Bangladesh Rising Conference discussed how Bangladesh can maintain its momentum, and potentially accelerates the growth achieved in the last decade.

The conference hosted practitioners, academics, and high-level government officials to discuss the ways the country can advance further and avoid pitfalls.

It included important topics such as financial inclusion, foreign investment, generation and provision of electricity, and sustainable development goals, among others.
