What makes Kalerkantho so popular, essential?

The Daily Kalerkantho has emerged as the number one online newspaper in the country at a time when the Bangla daily is set to turn nine.

No doubt, the news brings rare joy and happiness to the East West Media Group as right now no other newspapers, online news portals, radio and television stations are above the Daily Kalerkantho on the Alexa list.

On this auspicious occasion, I would like to extend my heartfelt greetings to all our readers and subscribers on behalf of the Kalerkantho family. 

No matter how adverse the circumstances were, the love and support of our readers helped us become more courageous in terms of publishing the authentic and accurate news. 

We believe that our readers are our real strength and we are moving ahead with the support of them.

As a senior member of the Kalerkantho family, I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every member of the family, especially the journalists, who discharged their duties with honesty and credibility. I am expressing my gratitude towards the management as well for their advice and all-out support as I think they always inspired the newsmen to perform their duties with professionalism and allowed them full independence.

I am sure; our readers have a clear idea about the Alexa’s Traffic Ranking. This is a ranking system set by alexa.com (a subsidiary of amazon.com) that basically audits and makes public the frequency of visits to various websites. 

As per Alexa ranking, Google is on the top spot of the list in Bangladesh while YouTube, Facebook, Google bd and Yahoo are on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th position respectively. 

Kalerkantho is now moved up to the sixth spot on the list of most visited news websites in Bangladesh while Prothom Alo is in the seventh position.

However, we are the second most circulated newspaper in Bangladesh in terms of print version. But, we hope that soon we will become number one and this is our ultimate goal. 

We are working hard round the clock to achieve the success and I hope our readers will be with us during the journey.

Our slogan is "Not the Partial, But the Whole Truth." Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, the chairman of the business conglomerate "Bashundhara Group," the mother concern of the EWMG, was the creator of the slogan and since the beginning of our journey; he is encouraging us to move ahead with the power of the truth. 

We are producing our news based on true events and incidents, not motivated by any quarter. We don't have any particular agenda and we are uncompromised in terms of upholding the true spirit of our Independence War.

We can hold our pens against all evil forces and any kind of unlawful acts without any fear. We raise our voice for the underprivileged people of the society and always stand beside the distressed humanity. 

We write against corruption and irregularities in the society. We believe in women empowerment and extend support to the youths.
