Economist Professor Abul Barkat has called upon Priya Saha to withdraw her statement involving his research findings immediately.
In a press statement issued today, the chief of Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA) alleged that Priya Saha has distorted his research findings during the interaction with US President Donald Trump.
The statement read: “I did never say in my research work that 37 million people of religious minority communities have gone missing or quit the country."
“So, I want Priya Saha to withdraw her statements involving my name as soon as possible as this is devoid of principle,” he added.
Barkat in his research stated that some 10 million Hindus went missing in the last five decades - 1964-2013.
Priya, one of the organising secretaries of Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad, claimed that 37 million people of religious minority communities have disappeared from Bangladesh during an interaction with US President Donald Trump.
She overnight drew wide condemnations for her remarks and later she came up with an explanation where she claimed that she only used the reference from the research of Professor Abul Barkat.
